Membership FAQs

Annual dues of $25 are charged which are due within two (2) weeks of being approved?

You will need to apply for membership which will be reviewed to ensure you are a basic fit with the other members in the group.  Click the JOIN button at the top of the page or within the menu.

There are 42 members as of November 2024.  Some members have support staff, whom are welcome at events.

The Learning Disabilities Association of Maryland sponsors the group and has a paid Coach/Counsellor on staff to assist at the monthly meetings and most events.  However, the group is basically self managing with it’s own Leadership Team voted in by the membership annually.

You will receive a full refund if you decide for any reason to exit the group within 3 months of joining

  1. You must have a registered disability and be willing to express it to the group.
  2. You must be 21 years old or greater at sign-up
  3. You must have and be able to use e-mail
  4. For events, you must have a cell phone and be able to use it.

The average of the membership is mid-30s

Meetings and Event FAQs

Meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of each month commencing at 7:30pm.  They are held in the Strathmore Court Apartment building’s meeting room.  More information is available to registered members.

The adenda normally takes appoximately 1 hour followed by dinner (Pizza, sandwiches, etc)

Each event is unique regarding logistics but each Sunday the next week’s venue will be distributed.  A follow-up e-mail comes out every Thursday.
